José Luís Carneiro accuses Moedas of "running away"

The socialist leader accused the mayor of Lisbon of "running away" over the Elevador da Glória accident and of "choosing to insult" socialists such as Alexandra Leitão, Pedro Nuno Santos and Eurico Brilhante Dias.
Speaking to Lusa news agency after Carlos Moedas' interview with SIC on Sunday, José Luís Carneiro considered that "not everything goes" and that the "PS demands explanations, clarification of responsibilities and respect for others" following this week's accident in which 16 people died.
"I was completely surprised that, faced with a tragedy of this nature and with the Socialist Party assuming such a responsible attitude, engineer Carlos Moedas, in a rush to the front, chose to insult my comrades Alexandra Leitão, Pedro Nuno Santos and Eurico Dias, using absolutely unacceptable expressions and even daring to offend the memory of Jorge Coelho, which no political circumstance can justify," he criticized.
In the opinion of the PS secretary-general, “it is not by resorting to this language” that the Mayor of Lisbon “can overcome the mistake he made when four years ago he demanded the resignation of Fernando Medina”.
